Longest belt from Spirit at 58"

The Spirit ET-588 features a longer belt at 58 inches. This is so far the longest belt you find in the ET series, giving you extra space for you to pick up the pace especially when this treadmill has an improved max speed of 12MPH.

This treadmill lets you run faster at 12MPH and with a better incline range of 12%, will push your harder in your training. These improvements, although average for the price, will surely give you the workout you'll need.

Comes with many features

The ET-588 comes with features that will  make your workouts more enjoyable starting with the built-in sound system that lets you hook up your iPod or MP3 players so you can listen to your favorite music. The console also features a built-in cooling fan to keep you fresh, quick speed and incline buttons for a one-touch adjustment, handrail controls located next to the handrails, cushioning, and folding feaature to save you space when the treadmill's not in use.

No noise reduction feature

As with all Spriit ET series treadmills, there was no mention of having a quiet belt or motor so we cannot determine if this treadmill is noisier than the others. Since the ET-588 costs more than $1000, we're expecting it to have this noise reduction feature as you would normally find in other treadmills with the same price tag.

Belt plies not mentioned

Lower model ET treadmills come with 2 ply belts . But in the case of ET-588, they might have overlooked this information and somehow failed to provide the details. We cannot give them the benefit of the doubt since it's the treadmills durability we're talking about here. Because of this, we've given the ET-588 low marks for this unstated info thus affecting its overall ranking in out grade cards.
