EVO Treadmills
Evo is a brand of Smooth Fitness which also sells under the Smooth brand. Where the Smooth brand is marketed and sold primarily online, the Evo brand is Smooth Fitness’ attempt in venturing into the offline retail market.
The main selling points of the Evo are its patented motion control sensors that allow the user to adjust the treadmill’s speed simply by waving their arms over the sensors. The second selling point is the “Swing Arm frame cushioning system” which is said to provide exceptional cushioning resulting in a lower potential chance of injury (you can also find this technology in some of the treadmills under the Smooth name). We would like to caution the buyer from being overly impressed with the cushioning technology as practically every company markets their cushioning technology as the best thing out there since sliced bread. From a buyer’s standpoint, you really have to try and compare different models to see if their cushioning is as good as it sounds.
If you look at what’s currently offered in the Evo lineup, you will see that they have attempted to create something to cater to everyone’s needs by selling treadmills for as low as $1500 to as high as over $3500. This means that theoretically, they have something for you no matter if you’re a walker, jogger, runner or sprinter.
Based on meta reviewing experts, the crème of the crop in the Evo brand seems to be the upper middle price range ($2000). The EVO FX40 and EVO FX60HR treadmills are both heavily favored by experts. If you’re going to do minimal running and don’t care for the heart rate control feature, the EVO FX20 is also an affordable and solid alternative for walkers and joggers. Finally, we have the EVO 1, 2 and 3i – all of which are just overpriced at this point.
We’ve meta-reviewed the following Evo branded treadmills:
EVO 1 Treadmill
EVO 2 Treadmill
EVO 3i Treadmill
EVO FX20 Treadmill
EVO FX30 Treadmill
EVO FX40HR Treadmill
EVO FX60HRO Treadmill
