Noticable improvements for a $200 difference |
For an extra $200, you get better value for your money with the 7.35's improvements on motor rating now at 3.25HP, longer belt at 62", 25 programs, and it now comes with a wireless chest strap for a more accurate heart rate reading. |
|
Longer belt at 62" |
It's very seldom to have a belt longer than 60" and the 62 inches that comes with the Smooth 7.35 counts among its selling points. This would be good for users who are tall or for those of you who want extra space for your long strides when you're running at 12MPH. |
|
60 day money back guarantee |
We're used to seeing just 30 days for this money back guarantee so 60 days is something really good for you. Only Smooth and Yowza offer this 2-month return guarantee, giving you longer time to see if it's the right treadmill or model that will suit your needs. |
|
7 yr parts warranty |
For treadmills $1500 and below, the average parts warranty is 2 to 4 years. With the 7.35, you get 7 years warranty on parts giving you extended coverage if ever the treadmill components would be needing replacement. You also get 2 years on labor on top of a lifetime frame and motor warranty. |
|
QuickChange handrail controls |
The Smooth 7.35 comes with handlebar controls so you won't get distracted when changing your setting on the console. The buttons are nicely placed on the handrails for east access. This feature is something not common in many treadmills. |
|
Slightly above average 3.25HP motor for the price |
For middle residential treadmills, we're used to seeing 3HP motors so the Smooth 7.35's 3.25HP motor is one notch higher giving you extra power sufficient for the longer 62" belt. |

No info on belt plies |
The main treadmill component you'll often get contact with is the belt so it's important for it to be durable. Unfortunately, Smooth's website somehow failed to provide information on belt plies. We would have wanted to know if it's 2-ply, multi-ply or not so as to give a fair evaluation for this model. This is because we rank treadmills based on features, quality,a nd extra components. We give low marks for unstated values such as belt plies and roller sizes commonly not discussed on the manufacturer's website. |
|
No online interaction |
Since the iFit Live technology was a big hit for Icon treadmills and ellipticals, it wouldn't be a bad idea if Smooth develops its own online fitness tracking. We're in the internet age and most gadgets take advantage of the technological boom. For sure, users will be more encouraged to use their treadmills more when you put in something that will get their interest. |
