Features a 10" full color web browser with a built-in iFit Live. |
Smong the Trailrunner 4.0's improvements is the 10" touch screen compared to the trailrunner 2.0's 7 inches. The wider screen is . Android-powered letting you do some internet stuff like watching YouTube videos, checking mails, reading the news, and others. It also works very well with the built-in iFit Live when using the workouts powered by Google Maps. You also get motivational emails from iFit to keep you inspired. We just won't advise you to do multi-tasking while doing your workouts, and you may want to use your PCs instead of the treadmill's browser for serious internet stuff. |

Has a strong 3.8HP motor |
Since the Trailrunner 4.0 sells within the $1000-$1500 price range, the 3.8HP motor that comes with it is above average as we normally see just 2.5HP and 3HP motors. Even with treadmills worth $1500 to $2000, only a few can offer a 3.8HP motor. |
|
32 programs to choose from |
With 32 programs, you have more choices as compared to just 10-24 programs found in most treadmills. After the first year, you have the option not to renew your iFit Live subscription since the built-in programs are sufficient to give you the exercise you need. |

Better value at time of review |
For just an additional $100, you get an Android-powered 10" screen, a stronger motor, and 2 additional programs, plus everything the Trailrunner 2.0 has to offer. Just take note that this is during the time of this review, but if ever you'll find this model with a $200 difference with the 2.0, it would still give your money a better value. |

No decline for trailrunner |
We would have wanted to see the Trailrunner 4.0 come with a decline feature since it's designed to simulate different trails around the world. This decline feature, although uncommon in most treadmills, would have been the icing on the cake of the Trailrunner 4.0. |

Unknown roller size, unit weight, and belt plies |
We give low marks for components without information such as unstated unit weights, unknown roller sizes and belt plies thus affecting the treadmill's overall score as you can see in the grading system we developed. We're hoping that in the near future, Proform gives us access to information with regards to these integral components as it is the quality of its treadmills that's being questioned. |
