15 to 25 degrees adjustable incline |
Incline adds challenge to your workouts. It simulates running uphill and doing so burns more calories compared to running on a flat trail. Choose from 15, 20, or 25 degree angles to make your workouts more intense. |
|
2 user IDS |
The EFX 5.25 comes with 2 user IDs that allows you to store personal information like age, weight, and height and can be used on this ellipticals heart rate programs. Having a user profile would also allow you to save your favorite program’s settings so you won’t have to adjust or configure anything before you start. |
|
Reverse stride |
Pedaling in reverse allows you to target glutes, hamstrings, and other leg area muscle groups. This reverse stride feature can be found in the EF 5.25 and counts among its selling points since not many ellipticals come with this feature. |

Stride length not stated |
The EFX 5.25's website states that this elliptical comes with adjustable stride lengths. However, these stride lengths were never defined making us unable to determine if it's acceptable in elliptical standards. Longer stride lengths suit a taller user better, while shorter stride lengths would be a little uncomfortable for them. We give low marks for unstated information especially when dealing with components that affect user's convenience. |
|
8 programs only |
When you put this elliptical's price into consideration, you'll find 8 programs are a little on the low side since many high-end ellipticals offer as much as 20 programs or more. These even counts among their selling points offering more workout options to users. Unfortunately, you don't have this luxury when it comes to the EFX 5.25. |
|
Lacking the bells and whistles normally found on high-end ellipticals. |
Even though the EFX 5.25 is priced as a high-end elliptical, some common features normally found in other models/brands are lacking. It doesn't offer any MP3 player support because it doesn't have a built-in sound system. It also comes with basic foot pedals and hand grips only unlike the cushioned ones offered by its counterparts. Also, it doesn't have fans to keep you cool during workouts, and it doesn't include a wireless heart rate monitor chest strap. These lacking features are expected for elliptical machines that cost more than $2000. |
|
1 year labor only |
A 1 year labor warranty is below average for elliptical machines that cost more than $2000. Other less expensive machines come with 2-year labor warranty - something this elliptical cannot offer despite its high price. |
