Comes with a 40% incline |
Incline trainers give you the steepest incline available in treadmills and product descriptions claim it helps you burn more calories 5 times more. The X3i got the maximum score possible in our grade cards. |
|
iFit compatible |
You can have special workouts with the iFit Technology ranging from begginer to advanced. You'll have supervides workouts by Jillian Michaels of "The Biggest Loser". You just might want to know that the module and workout cards need a separate purchase. |
|
Built-in sound system, cooling fan and quick buttons |
You'll be glad to know that the X3i comes with an MP3 player support, a cooling fan feature and 1-touch speed and incline buttons to give you a more entertaining and convenient workout. |
|
Unique design |
Incline trainers have a beautiful unique design and garnered bonus points in our grading system. |
Cons |

|
10 mph max speed |
Since the X3i costs more than $800, the 10MPH max speed is considered below average. Even if others may argue that incline trainers differ in function, you may want to take a look at the X7i which has a max speed of 12MPH. |
|
Slightly below average motor |
Having just a 2.0HP motor may not be sufficient for a 20" by 50" running surface. We may not know if it's really sufficient or not but the higher model X7i features a strong 3HP motor for a 20" x 55" belt so there's enough reason to ask why put a weaker motor for this model. |
|
No noise reduction feature |
While it's common for treadmills to have a noise reduction feature, we never found information if the X3i has one. If it doesn't, then we can say that it's potentially noisier than usual. For a treadmill worth $1000, you should expect to have this noise reduction feature included. |
|
Below average parts warranty. |
Especially for a unique machine like incline trainers, having just 1 year warranty on parts doesn't come as good news since this machine costs over $1000. |
|
Unknown unit weight, roller size, and belt plies |
Nordictrack generally doesn't provide information with regards to product weight, belt plies, and roller sizes of most products thus getting low marks for these unstated features. |
