iFit Live built-in |
With the 35Si priced just like the regular 35 S, having a built-in iFit Live module makes this model a better choice. With iFit Live, you bring your workouts to the next level since this innovative technology offers so many features to make your workouts more exciting. |
Adjustable stride lengths up to 35" |
The Freestrider 35Si offers a rare maximum stride length of 35". You might want to know the 35 in this model’s name means 35”. Doing long strides is equivalent to incline training as this gives you difficulty and challenge. This elliptical also has an adjustable feature for shorter stride options. |
25 programs |
Even if the 35Si comes with just 25 programs as compared to the 35S's 30, it's still better than the 11-19 programs offered by many of its counterparts in this price range. Having les built-in programs won't matter since this machine comes with iFit Live that offers new programs you can download. |
Comes with fans, side handrails, and sound system. |
The 35Si offers several features that provide the comfort and convenience you need during intense workouts. It comes with a built-in fan to keep you cool, side handrails you can hold on to when you want to focus on lower body workouts, and a built-in sound system to keep you entertained during long hours of workouts. |

Unit weight unknown |
Based on its product description, the 35Si can accommodate up to a 300lb weight capacity. However, as expected from Nordictrack, information about the unit weight is not provided. This gives us reason to doubt the company's claim about the 35Si's maximum weight capacity. |
Comes with oversized pedals only |
We would have wanted to see more than just oversized foot pedals on this elliptical. Other brands/models that cost around $2000 often provide extra cushioning on their pedals. Additionally, the angle of the pedal can oftentimes be adjusted so you can find a more suitable position for your feet. |
No reverse stride |
This reverse stride feature is not available on this model. Having this capability would have given you the chance to work on your glutes and the back muscles of your legs making it more toned. |
Parts warranty downgraded to 5 years |
The other Freestrider model 35S (without “I”) offers a parts warranty of 7 years but this model with the same price only comes with 5 years coverage for parts. This is still acceptable but I'd just like to point out that this may be due to the inclusion of the iFit Live module. For a manufacturer to provide you with additional features, they surely would cut corners to save and in this case, the parts warranty is the one that took the hit. |
1 year labor, no brakes warranty specified |
The 1 year warranty provided by Nordictrack for this product is a definite turn off. Considering the cost of labor and the price range for this elliptical, we would have wanted to see a labor warranty of at least 2 years. Another disappointment is the lack of brakes warranty. Even though the parts warranty covers the brakes, it’s only 5 years and too short compared to the 10 years or longer provided by other manufacturers. |
