Summary of What The Experts Say
Note: The Ironman M6 is one of the older models from Ironman and so the expert reviews were written in 2004/2005 so they're a bit outdated.
Experts say the Ironman M6 treadmill was one of the most expensive units from Ironman's brand (at the time of review). It features the best specs from Ironman such as the orthopedic belt. However, experts are concerned with how the orthopedic belt will affect the durability of the machine. As the M6 is essentially a below average machine in terms of quality, an orthopedic belt may prove too taxing for the machine affecting reliability.

What Should You Do?
The "M" series of Ironman treadmills date back a few years to around 2004 or thereabouts. As such, unless there's something really attractive about these machines, we usually do not recommend them. For the Ironman M6 treadmill, we feel exactly that way - no particular reason why we would recommend it unless the price was really attractive.

Looking at the specs, the 3.0 HP motor and the 56"/58" belt (there seems to be two versions depending who you buy it from) is going to be sufficient for practically all runners. Usually a motor that has a "true" 3.0 HP rating is going to be sufficient for almost all purposes. But the motor only received a power rating that is slightly above average. This suggests that it might be one of those cases where the motor's horsepower rating has been fudged around a little bit.
The warranty is just average. For a treadmill that is often sold for quite a bit upwards of $1000, the 2 years parts warranty is weak. Of course, they offer very long warranties for the motor and frame but any decent treadmill on the market today offers similar warranties for these components so it's really not that impressive. That is why we keep looking back to how long the parts warranty is as that's usually the most telling of a machine's quality.
Verdict: The M6 was the best Ironman treadmill machine back then. Nowadays, you can locate an Ironman such as the Inspire or Triad with similar specs at lower prices but we weren't too positive with those machines either unless they can be found at a huge discount. As a result, with limited information on the M6, we're also a little apprehensive in giving you the buy signal unless you can really find it for an affordable price.
