Ironman Treadmills

Ironman is one of the many brands that its parent company, Keys Fitness sells treadmills under. Keys Fitness is one of the larger (but not largest) treadmill and elliptical makers out there today. Production is believed to be based in the states instead of the more common option of being outsourced overseas.

Strengths

On paper, these treadmills are above average for their price. Deck size is often on the generous side, machines come with plenty of programs and the upper end models come with a powerful motor (at least on paper.) The motor and frame also come with lengthy warranties.

Weaknesses

In our research, the two main weaknesses that we came across was quality/durability and customer support. When the motor is warranted for 10 years, there should not be that many repeated incidents of the motor dying as we have read on Amazon. There shouldn’t be repeated complaints in regards to squeaks when using the machine either. Finally, when there’s a problem with the treadmill, we did not expect there to be so many cases of poor experiences with the customer support which we also read on Amazon. Depending on what price you buy an Ironman treadmill, its warranty for parts can be classified as average (below $1000) or below average (above $1000).

Target Market

Although the retail price of many Ironman treadmill models sell in the middle end of the home treadmill market (~$1500), our research indicates that these machines are much stronger competitors in the sub $1000 market.
