About The Company: Icon Health & Fitness is one of the biggest if not the biggest player in the treadmill and elliptical industry dominating much of the budget segment of the market. Icon markets its products under multiple brands including Proform, Weslo, Nordictrack, IMAGE, Epic, Weider, Freemotion, Free Spirit, Gold’s Gym, Healthrider, and Reebok. Its retail distribution network is equally impressive partnering with big name companies such as Walmart, Sears, Costco, KMart, Dick's Sporting Goods and many, many others. Icon Health & Fitness has been at the center of much criticism in the past few years due to the generally low quality of its budget treadmills and elliptical products. At higher prices, Icon still pales in comparison to the competition often due to the cheap parts it uses. Despite these problems however, ICON continues to be able to sell its products in the millions every year.

ICON’s commercial division is represented by Freemotion Fitness which it acquired in 2000. Although much has been said about the quality (problems) in Icon's home line of equipment, not much is known on how it fairs in the commercial segment of the market.

With Icon's extremely large retail distribution base, they're not going away anytime soon.
