What You Should Do
The lowest price the Endurance T4i treadmill is currently going for is just under $1500 which is $500 more than the T3 at $999. So let's take a look at what you are getting for the extra $500 you're spending.
1. 19” by 53” vs 18” by 50”
2. 2.5 HP motor vs 2.2 HP motor.
3. Heart rate monitor (but still no heart rate control)
4. 25 pound increase in weight capacity
5. 10 more programs for a total of 16
For these five new things, are they each worth $100 for a total of $500 extra?
The longer belt and width are worth an extra $100 especially if you intend to do any type of jogging.
The 0.3 HP increase in the motor power to 2.5 HP firmly qualifies it as a treadmill fit for jogging although we would have liked to see more of an increase.
You get a heart rate monitor, not a heart rate control meaning the treadmill will not adjust speeds and inclines to maintain a certain heart rate level. For most, it's not worth the extra $100.
Weight capacity increase usually means the machine is a bit more stable but at 25, you would probably not feel much of a difference.
The 10 extra programs are useful for those who like to use programs but are otherwise of limited to use to the rest
Verdict: If you're looking for a treadmill to run on instead of jogging or walking, the belt on the Endurance T4i is still not long enough. For tall joggers that find the Endurance T3 too short, the T4i is an option but you’re really paying a premium for it. If you are intent on getting an Endurance treadmill for its lifetime parts warranty and you will be mainly running instead of jogging or walking on it, you might want to consider a higher end model (or if there is a huge price drop in the future.) If you only need to jog or walk, the Endurance T3 is a better choice.
