Both user reviews have complained about the poor packing their treadmill came in. One user had to do a lot of fiddling outside of the original assembly instructions to get it working. She then proceeded by saying the machine gives a fantastic workout (which may or may not be the case for you since the treadmill’s max speed is only 6.0 MPH).

What You Should Do

The Health Trainer HT402T seems to be closely related to the HT403T as their name and prices suggest. If you're getting either of these, you are picking the least the Health Trainer brand has to offer so you definitely have to set your expectations low.

Now, experts are pretty clear about their stance already - no go. From a user's standpoint, if you really don't intend to go faster than 4.0 MPH (brisk walking for shorter users) then it might be of SOME use. Jogging/running at the maximum speed of 6.0 MPH is definitely a bad idea. A machine of this low caliber set to run at this high speed is surely heading to the graveyard in record time. In conclusion, for most people, this treadmill just doesn't cut it.

Verdict: Save yourself a headache and 400 bucks. A few hundred dollars more would get you much more treadmill. If your budget is only 400 bucks, take a look at what we currently list as best buys. Alternatively, consider an elliptical.
