The EVO 2 is reviewed very similarly to the EVO 1 since they are essentially the same treadmill except the EVO 2 features a stronger motor (3.5CHP vs 3.0), higher max speed (12.5 MPH vs 11) and weighs heavier. Although the EVO 2 did not receive a best buy from Consumer Guide, it did receive a best buy in the $2000 to $3000 range from the LA Times newspaper. Experts agree that the EVO 2 is sturdily constructed and a good choice for runners. One expert said the treadmill might be overpriced.

What You Should Do
The EVO 2 model just does not make business sense. Selling for $500 more than the EVO 1 model, it really doesn't offer much. For sprinters, the 12.5 MPH max speed is a welcomed feature but when you think of how pricey the EVO 1 already is, we think it should have already come with a 12.5 MPH max speed instead of appearing as an upgrade in the EVO2.
The EVO 2 is by all means, a decent treadmill with an awesome lifetime parts warranty but the main weakness of the EVO 2 is the lack of distinguishing features that justifies it being sold on the market when you already have the EVO 1. Another major weakness is its $3199 price tag. For $1999, you can get another EVO in the FX40HR that is slightly inferior but drastically cheaper. Even though experts agree you may not be getting the best value (i.e price), they still believe this is a sturdily constructed treadmill.
Verdict: The EVO 2 suffers more of a price problem than even the EVO 1
