Even though it is still in the budget price range, it has received average or slightly above average ratings across all areas which we think is slightly unexpected.

Users in general believe they've gotten a very good deal in buying the Health Trainer Classic treadmill. Users have noted it being sturdy/heavy/strong, quick to assemble and a good value for the money. Users are split between whether the treadmill is loud or quiet - it's said to be loud enough to affect neighbors in the same apartment but quiet enough to hear the TV.
What You Should Do
The first thing you must understand is that any treadmill that is less than $1000 should not be used regularly for running. This Health Trainer Classic is no exception especially with the 2.25 continuous horse power motor which is just between the 2.0CHP we recommend for walking and 2.5CHP we recommend for jogging. In addition, the 52 inches length and 18 inches width will definitely make for uncomfortable running for all but the shortest users. In other words, all signs point to the Health Trainer Classic as being a bad choice for runners.
If the above is true, why do most users review this treadmill positively? Why would they be pleased with a treadmill they cannot run on? Although it's hard to say for sure but if a user has actually spent a substantial amount of time trying to run on a treadmill with a belt that is as short and as wide as this, they would quickly discover it being less than comfortable. The user reviews that we have read are mainly concerned about the assembly and noise rather than the actual feel of the treadmill suggesting that their exercises are not intense enough for the user to notice the treadmill’s shortcomings.
In other words, if you're a beginner athlete and only intend to walk or jog most of the time, you wouldn't have many complaints with this treadmill since you don't have to run on it. If you do run on it, good luck with the short and narrow belt.
Verdict: For the price, experts review reveals you get a great deal of quality. For the runner, this treadmill is not an option due to the belt’s shortcomings. For the jogger, it’s a decent choice especially if you’re not particularly tall. For the walker, we believe the Health Trainer Classic is one of the most affordable and cost effective choices out there on the market today. This treadmill is likely one of the most overlooked treadmill in the $750 area. If only it could come with a longer parts warranty than its current 1 year period, we would likely give it a best buy at its current price.
