At the bottom of the Epic lineup is the Epic 400 MX treadmill. Experts aren't impressed by the treadmill's short 90 day parts and labor warranty. One expert recommended the Smooth 5.25 while an older review by another expert recommended the Epic T60 (which has actually been recalled by the company due to safety issues.) Numerical ratings by Treadmill Doctor indicate it is a class below the 425MX, 600MX and 800MX. Experts generally think this treadmill isn't a bad choice but none have said it's a great choice either.

What You Should Do
You're better off not buying the Epic 400 MX treadmill at this price especially when its bigger and stronger brothers, the 600 and 800 MX are also available at lower or equal prices. Although it may seem foolish to buy the 600 or 800 MX when both have hardly been reviewed, it is equally foolish to buy a model that is reviewed poorly.
Verdict: If you must buy an epic in the sub $1000 price, get the Epic 600 MX or Epic 800 MX instead of the Epic 400 MX.
