Originally called Bowflex of America, Bowflex took the world by storm in 1986 when it first introduced the Bowflex 2000X. Bowflex of America changed it name to Bowflex, Inc. then it renamed itself to Direct Focus, Inc. in 1999. In that same year, the company bought out Stairmaster Fitness, Nautilus Corporation, and Schwinn Fitness.
Later on in 2002, Bowflex, Inc. changed its name to Nautilus Inc. and became the top of the line manufacturer of innovative fitness and health products. Today, Bowflex Home Gyms is one of the top-selling brands together of Nautilus Inc. with other big brand names in the health and fitness industry like Nautilus, Schwinn, Universal, and Core Body.
Bowflex Home Gyms is the proud owner of the first ever TreadClimber which was released in 2003. The TreadRunner is a cardio machine that is very similar to a treadmill. What sets the TreadClimber apart from typical treadmills is that it features "treadles" or 2 independent walking surfaces.
In 2006, the company further developed their products with new designs that are equipped with new resistance technology. It was on the said year that the Bowflex Revolution series was introduced. To date, the Bowflex Gyms brand is popularly known as the one of the best brands in the fitness industry carrying various fitness products like bikes, treadmills, ellipticals, treadclimbers, home gyms, free weights, benches, and much more.
