What You Should Do

Getting the Endurance 10K treadmill because it has 21 programs is a terrible idea. Programs are nice to have and offer a nice change of pace from just running at a constant speed but you should not base your treadmill buying decision mainly on the number of programs it has. If instead you decide to base your treadmill buying decision on the warranty it carries, it may not be such a bad decision. [Click To See Rest of Review]

Body-Solid treadmills usually carry a lifetime parts warranty and the Endurance 10K is no exception. Although the lifetime warranty can be found on other units under the Endurance brand, there’s just not many competitors out there that are offering a warranty as good as this one especially in the $1300 price area.

One thing you should know is that the Endurance 10K is an older model as it's not even listed for sale on Body-Solid's official website anymore and the expert reviews date back to 2004. You should also keep in mind that when the reviews were written, they were based on a MSRP of $1499 but the price has since gone down to $1270 which is quite a price reduction but also not unexpected considering it's an older model.

For users that are going to be running (7.0mph+) regularly, you might consider getting a different model since the belt only has a 53 inch length which is just a bit too short for running. If you're going to mainly jog on your treadmill which requires a shorter stride, the Endurance 10K should do a sufficient job of satisfying your needs. If you're going to be walking predominantly, the Endurance 10K should be more than sufficient. In fact, if you're going to be walking, the Endurance 10K may be overkill so you might be better off getting the Endurance 5K.

Verdict: For joggers that want the protection of the lifetime parts warranty but don’t want to pay the price of the newer Endurance models, the older Endurance 10K is a decent choice. The shorter belt length means running of any kind is not recommended. Even taller joggers may find the 53” belt restrictive. For buyers that are strictly walkers and also want to reap the savings of older models, the Endurance 5K should be considered.
